SA's situador managed to buy flour at 1/6 the price previously paid
In 1654 the presidio managed to free itself from economic vassalage long enough to buy from suppliers other than those affiliated with the moneylenders. One situador (commissioned collector) said he was able to buy flour at 1/6 the price previous agents had been paying. [Note 52: Santos de las Heras, Mexico City 3/15/1654.]
