The king of England extended the Carolina charter into Spanish territory
Two years later [after 1663], in an act which left the Spanish ambassador speechless, the king of England gave the proprietors a second charter which extended Carolina's lower boundary 2° into Florida, a colony of Spain's so long established that it was celebrating its centennial that very year.
