Georgia got caught up in the War of Jenkins’s Earedit

With the coming of Oglethorpe's Georgia colony in 1733 a half decade of bluster and argument followed on that noisy border. The contest for Guale then became part of a larger struggle known as the War of Jenkins' Ear, in which failures were the rule on both sides. The result was indecisive, and Georgia continued to be "debatable land."
