Gov. Quiroga arrived to find the Castillo “completed in the main”
Sleepy old San Agustin was stirred to new life. Delays occurred, but when Quiroga came (1687) as governor he found "completed in the main" the great castle which still stands at San Agustin, a monument to Spain's determination.
