Gov. Cabrera had a fort built at Zapala that is still visible today
Governor Cabrera sent more soldiers thither, with orders to construct a casa fuerte. It is apparently the remains of this fort that are plainly visible on Zapala Island to-day and are known as "The Old Sugar House."
