Agramont ravaged the missions of southern Guale
In 1683 the notorious "Abraham" (Agramont) plundered the missions of southern Guale, despoiled them of provisions, carried off church bells and ornaments, and killed neophytes. The survivors fled to the forests. When the scare was over the southern Guale missions were nearly ruined.
