Creek chiefs traveled to Pensacola, SA, and Mexico to swear allegience to Spain
There [Pensacola] on July 7 [1715 or 1717?], forty Creek chiefs and headmen delivered Spanish captives, and enacted peace ceremonies. Seven chiefs of the Western (Upper) Creeks went to Mexico and swore allegiance to the King in the presence of the viceroy. They were lavishly entertained and they marvelled at the wonders of the metropolis of North America.1 Meanwhile the Lower Creeks gave obedience at San Agustin and made intermittent war on Carolina.
