Narvaez landed and claimed FL
On the fourth of April, 1528, Narvaez landed and in the name of the King took possession of the country with the greatest solemnity; but the hardships which he suffered were so great, and the hostilities which he experienced from the Indians were such that he had to abandon the enterprise. 7.
