Friars' 2nd attempt to mission at Sabacola won some converts
In 1681 the Franciscans again appeared, accompanied by soldiers. But again they were forced to withdraw. This time, however, they were followed by their converts, and the mission of Santa Cruz de Sabacola was established further south, at the junction of the Chattahoochee and the Flint. 51
