SC Proprietors promoted Nairne to judge in England
In 1710 Nairne went to England and was soon taken into the favor of the Proprietors. 71 [Note 71: Nairne was nominated to the Admiralty as judge-advocate for South Carolina. It was probably at this time that he wrote, or supplied the data for, the tract, A Letter from South Carolina, 1710.] But meanwhile he had lost his Indian agency, and his great Louisiana project had come to nought.
