Naire proposed funding sources for an ambassador to the Indiansedit

In 1705 he [Nairne] proposed a fund for the purpose [of an ambassador among the Indians]: the Queen to settle £100 annually out of her dues in Carolina, the Proprietors to allow £80, and the rest to be raised by a tax of £4 a year on the traders. 35[Note 35: S.P.G.
