Even the new stone government houses were rubble after Moore's siege
When Colonel Moore and his forces arrived to lay siege to the castillo in 1702, the treasury was on the point of being re-shingled. When they marched away, nothing was left of any of the government houses except blackened rubble. [Note 75: Gov. Zuniga y Cerda, orders, 11/6/1702 and 1/6/1703]
