Spain ordered a new governor and support for FL to attack SCedit

The Junta de Guerra also took additional steps toward planning the offensive against Carolina. Hoping to obtain an experienced military officer to lead the attack, its members suggested that Zuniga be replaced by Andres de Arriola, widely reputed as a shrewd strategist and tactician. The Junta also ordered the viceroy of New Spain, the Duke of Albuquerque, to remit 50,000 pesos, 150 to 200 soldiers, and arms and powder for use by the expeditionary force. There was also a suggestion—not an order—that the governor in Florida confer with the French governor of Canada on the possibility of mounting a joint offensive on the English simultaneously in both the south and the north.
