SA received more money to rebuilt homes
Philip V granted Corcoles an additional 20,000 pesos to carry out plans to rebuild Saint Augustine... and by the end of 1716 money from the new allocation had arrived in Saint Augustine.
The new building fund dwindled as quickly as the previous one. By the time Benavides assumed the governorship in 1718, all but 6,000 of the 20,000 pesos was gone.
