The king sent Rozo and Nieto back to Havana for sentencing
After the Council had settled the matter of Benavides’ handling of the Nieto-Rozo case, it turned to the matter of judging the two officers, who might still be guilty despite the governor’s imprudence. The king thus ordered the two defendants back to Cuba and commanded the governor in Havana to render a verdict in their case. [Note: gov of Cuba to king 6/21/1724]
...[Nieto] died on the return voyage from Spain
...Three years later, [6/21/1724]
