The Spanish ambassador presented English authorities with Philip V's demands to dismantle Fort King edit

In December, 1722, Pozobueno presented these demands to the English authorities, who at first seemed obliged to bow to them. In their initial reply to the Spanish ambassador, they pointed out that in two dispatches—one on September 6, 1721, and another on November 28, 1722—they had ordered Governor Nicholson to observe friendly relations with the Spaniards in the Southeast.
