Gov. Benavides complained of expensive supplies and shipping the situadoedit

Governor Benavides complained in 1720 that the price of food in Puebla and of conducting the situado to Florida were too expensive, suggesting again that the new system had failed to relieve the old abuses. In 1723 he repeated this complaint and suggested that the viceroy pay the costs of shipping the subsidy to Saint Augustine. [Note: gov to king 6/24/1723] (Tepaske GSF)
