Pedroso, from jail, asked to be assigned away from SAedit

For Ayala and Pedroso the long waiting period had different effects. Pedroso was at first anxious to be restored to his post in Florida. He had been charged unfairly and wanted his treasurer’s job back. [Note: Pedroso to Paz 7/12/1721] But as the years passed, he mellowed in Cuba. He evidently came to enjoy life away from Florida and ultimately asked Philip V for a new post (hopefully at the court in Spain) and the right to name his successor in Saint Augustine.
