Pedroso returned to SA treasury with full reimbursement of his 2-year exile
On March 2, 1731, the king informed Benavides of this decision [to cancel the Ayala-Pedroso probe], and two years later ordered the viceroy of New Spain to reimburse Pedroso with full salary for the two years he had spent in exile in Havana. [Note: king to virrey de Nueva Espana 10/4/1733] The treasurer finally returned to Florida to assume the duties he had left behind 14 years before, ending the affair.
