Word of Moral's excesses already reached Spain
Even in cases of incompetence machinery for replacing the governor worked slowly. Word of the excesses of Governor Francisco del Moral Sanchez reached Spain soon after his appointment in 1734, yet Moral remained in office until March, 1737, almost until his term officially expired.
