Moral took sides in the clergy factions
[Moral] was abusing the auxiliary bishop, recently assigned to Florida, and took sides in a quarrel between the Creole and Spanish Franciscans, rather than maintaining a dispassionate, Olympian position implicit in his office as royal vice patron of the church. [Note: los oficiales reales de la Florida to king 10/12/1735]
