The Governor Suggests Economic Reforms Besides complaining about their economic woes the governors of Florida suggested various panaceas which they hoped would bring the colony out of the economic doldrums. These proposals took different directions. Some requested basis changes in administration of the subsidy; others recommended a complete change in the economic life of the colony; but if adopted, all promised a better existence for the beleaguered province.
