English destroyed several Spanish Indian villagesedit

Border raids continued throughout 1738 and 1739, spreading terror among the settlers but inflicting little damage. In October, 1738, a small force of English militia and Indians invested the area 50 miles from the mouth of the Saint John’s River and destroyed several Spanish Indian villages. (Tepaske GSF)
