Oglethorpe ordered 1,000 Indians to overrun unprotected settlements in FL
Although this failed, Oglethorpe encouraged another attack early in 1739 when he ordered 1,000 Creeks and Chickasaws into Florida to overrun the unprotected Spanish settlements. [Note 63: Oglethorpe to Duke of Newcastle, Frederica 11/12/1741]
