Guemes' force left Havana in a steady rain
The main body of the expedition under Rubiani and Arredondo left Havana on June 5 in a steady rain. Although it took the fleet of 24 vessels 10 days to make a voyage that normally took no more than five, all the ships reached Saint Augustine safely, despite a violent storm that separated them.
