Juan Menendez Marquez said all the FL governers since his cousin had squandered money on Indians
Juan Menendez Marquez, an old Indian fighter, had a contrary view. He observed that since the time of his cousin not one governor had extended a conquest or made a discovery: all had gone about gratifying the Indians at the expense of His Majesty.
