SA's royal officials complained of additional expenses on supply orders
From 1638 to the mid-1650s the primary problem was dependence upon moneylenders, compounded with the loss in purchasing power of the notes against unpaid situados and of the soldiers’ certificates of back wages, both of which in the absence of currency were used for exchange.
