CRISP, EDWARD. A Compleat Description of the Province of Carolina. London, [1711 ?]. LC. CO. (C.O. Maps, Carolina, 2.) (Second inset: 'A map of South Carolina shewing the Settlements of the English, French & Indian nations from Charles Town to the River Missisipi by Capt. Tho. Nairn': a crude map based upon the Nairne manuscript map of 1708 which has disappeared, but of interest for the inclusive boundaries of Carolina. With alterations in the plate this served in 1732 as the so-called 'first map of Georgia.' See my Promotion Literature, p. 10 note 20.)
