Whether this is your first time studying online or if you have studied online before, this Orientation will set you up for success in your studies. *Note that this Orientation has four short units in total and should only take an average of 2-3 hours to complete, but you can take as long as you need. We are so pleased that you have chosen to pursue your degree with us. We have created this orientation to help you learn what is needed to be successful at the university. It is held in Moodle to give you a feel for what it is like to navigate through a course. This orientation is designed to help you become acquainted with the university and what it is like to study with us so that you are ready to learn in your next courses. Each unit will cover an important topic related to your student journey. University of the People, our mission values and global outreach. Using Moodle, technology requirements, classroom navigation, our courses, format of classes, learning resources and assignment types, as well as career exploration, programs of study and career resources. At the end of each unit is a very small assignment designed to reinforce the content that you learned. In order to complete the orientation, you must successfully complete each assignment. You have as many attempts as you need to complete those assignments. Note that this orientation has four short units in total and should only take an average of two to three hours to complete. But you can take as long as you need. Though it is self-paced. This orientation must be completed by the deadline communicated to you via email in order to start your studies in the upcoming term. The University of the People (UoPeople) is the Education Revolution. It is the first non-profit, tuition-free, American, accredited, online university. UoPeople was founded in 2009 and accredited in February 2014. The University offers certificates, associate and bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration, Computer Science, and Health Science, as well as master's degree programs in Business Administration, Information Technology, and Education, University of the People in Arabic was launched in 2020, offering associate and bachelor's degrees in Business Administration. An English as a Second Language (ESL) program was also introduced to help students improve their English language abilities. There presently are more than 117,000 students enrolled from more than 200 countries and territories, UoPeople has built a sustainable and scalable model to serve those millions whose talent and creativity is being lost today, Courses are delivered online to a group of typically 20*30 students who study the material together under the direction of a faculty member. A bachelor's degree requires completion of 40 courses. Each nine-week course is based on a curriculum drawn from Open Educational Resources(OER) materials, so there is no textbook or materials cost. The only time a student is asked to pay any amount is at the end of a course. For students who can afford It there is an assessment fee of $120 for an undergraduate course, $200 for a certificate program course or $300 for a graduate-level course. In particular, most universities, if not all of them, shut down their doors and move to teach online. For us, a few people, this was not a challenge. We remain teaching online is always doing a great service to our students. We're very proud of ourselves. We are proud of our achievement. We've doubled our numbers from 20 thousand to over 40 thousand students. We got from wasps the eligibility to pursue accreditation.
