Governor Menendez Marques claimed that ALL Florida Indians had pledged their obedience to him
In 1583 Governor Pedro Menendez Marques writes that all of the Indians in the interior, as well as on the coast, had come to see him and yield their obedience. He declares that the Indians were being converted rapidly.2
