In 1750, however, four Sawokli settlements appear to be named with more than 50 men14 and in 1760 four with a total of 190. 15 The Tamali are perhaps included in this last census. In 1761 they and the neighboring villages, probably of the same connection, were estimated to contain only 50 hunters.1 Hawkins says that Sawoklutci contained 20 families, but gives no figures for Sawokli itself.2 Young (1821) gives a town called Ehawho-ka-les, apparently intended for Sawokli, having 150 inhabitants.4 He gives 580 in Okitiyagana.3 The census of 1832 gives 187 Sawokli, besides 42 slaves, 157 in its branch town, Okawaigi, and 106 in another branch^ Hatcheetcaba.4 The few still living are about Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
